Account Access Issues - Sept. 28. 2021

The WeMod desktop app experienced downtime on September 28 between 10:30 PM-12:00 AM EDT that prevented people from signing in or creating new user accounts.
This happened due to a bug in our deployment code that resulted in an important file being deleted. Specifically, this file was used to validate web requests made from the WeMod app to our server. We have applied a fix and no security issues surfaced as a result of the bug.
During the downtime, you may have experienced one of two things:
  • An infinite loading screen when starting WeMod. This issue automatically resolved itself once WeMod came back online.
  • Being logged out of the app. We believe this issue is limited to a small number of WeMod users that had the app open at the time. If you fall into this group, you can safely log back in or request a new password if you forgot yours. If you didn't have an email address associated with your account, please send us an email at support@wemod.com and we will assist you.
We have made sure this cannot happen again in future code deployments and we hope it hasn't caused you any trouble.
